JLand to develop Discovery City in Sedenak Technology Valley in Q3 2023

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Johor Land Bhd (JLand) will spearhead the development of Sedenak Technology Valley with an initial 130-hectare pilot phase known as Discovery City in Kulai in the third quarter of next year.

JLand excutive director Mohd Yusof Ahmad, speaking at JLand's new logo and rebranding event, said the 2,916-hectare Sedenak Technology Valley is an integrated development driven by digital technologies and underpinned by environmental, social and governance principles.

JLand, the real estate arm of Johor Corporation’s (JCorp), was outlining its expansion plans at its new brand identity and rebranding event.

JCorp president and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, who is also JLand chairman, said JLand has “to raise the bar” by building innovative and sustainable projects.

“We must be innovative; it’s not an option. It is imperative that we must quickly and earnestly embrace and deploy proptech in our operations," he said.

He said this was “to future-proof JLand and to ensure that JCorp, via Johor Land, will be able to further contribute to the state economic development.”

JLand projects also include the 11.2-hectare Tebing@Bandar Tiram, which will replicate the success of Tebing at Bandar Dato' Onn here.

The company is also looking at urban rejuvenation initiatives for its 95-hectare Arena Larkin development in Larkin district, which will include a central park and commercial real estate by second quarter of 2024, and serviced apartments and small office/home office by first quarter of 2025.
