SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- A total of 187 individuals from Petaling and Klang districts today received the state medals conferred in conjunction with the 76th birthday of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The Tengku Laksamana of Selangor, Tengku Sulaiman Shah, presented the medals at an investiture ceremony at the Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz here.
A total of 31 people received the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) while 40 people received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Selangor (PPC).
Bernama photographer Mohd Johari Ibrahim of the Selangor bureau and The Star Media Group photographer Sham Kien Khee were among 111 people who received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) .
Five people received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Selangor (PPS).
The investiture ceremony for other districts continues tomorrow.
