Former Bernama Chief Photographer Mustaza buried in Labu tonight

SEREMBAN, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Former Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief photographer Mustaza Mohd Yusof, 62, who died due to a blood clot in his lung at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, at 5am today was buried at the Kampung LBJ Muslim Cemetery in Labu at 11.15pm tonight.

His remains was initially taken to the Kuala Terengganu Al-Abrar Mosque in Terengganu for the funeral rites and then brought back to Kampung LBJ (Felda), Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan to be buried.

About 100 family members, relatives, colleagues and villagers paid their last respects at the burial ground.

According to his daughter, Nurezzatul Aqmar Mustaza, 34, her father had hypertension and was a diebetic who suffered a minor stroke in 2016 but his health condition had improved after treatment.

“We went to Terengganu for a holiday in Pulau Redang, My fahter was on the island for about four hours but started vomitting. When his condition worsened, we took him to a Health Clinic nearby before going to the hospital.

“Before going to Terengganu on Saturday, I noticed that my father was rather quiet. We thought he was tired but did not least expect him to go. Even when he was vomitting, we did not realise that it was a sign that he was going to leave us. It is indeed a big loss to us but we accept his passing,” she told Bernama, here tonight.

He leaves behind a wife, four children and two grandchildren.

Mustaza was with Bernama for 38 years before leaving the agency on compulsory retirement on Dec 5, 2020. His last post with the news agency was as assistant manager at the Subscription Service Division, Commercial Department.

He joined the agency as a photographer on Nov 1, 1982.
