Mtdc Achieves Isms Iso 27001 Certification

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) has successfully achieved ISMS ISO 27001 certification with the support of its own ecosystem company Nexagate Sdn Bhd. 

It said in a statement that the ISMS ISO 27001 certification is an international standard approved by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd and provides a framework for managing and protecting sensitive information.

By achieving this certification, MTDC demonstrates its commitment to information security, which is crucial to the growth of Industry 4.0 in Malaysia.

This ensures that sensitive information is adequately protected against unauthorised access or theft, enabling MTDC to further drive the technological advancement of the nation.

Chief executive officer Mohammad Hazani Hassan said MTDC is elated to have achieved the ISMS ISO 27001 certification with the help of Nexagate.

"This certification reflects our unwavering commitment to information security, which is essential for MTDC to deliver world-class technology solutions to our clients with confidence in the security and privacy of their data.

“The aim is to make sure that there is a level of protection for confidentiality, availability and integrity of information within the defined scope,” he said.

MTDC's core activities, which include strategic investments and funding, Centre of 9 Pillars® (Co9P®), Technology centres, Technology and Business Advisory Services, and Technopreneur Training Academy (TENTRA) are all covered by the ISMS certification.

This certification covers seven MTDC locations namely its headquarters in Menara Yayasan Tun Razak, UPM-MTDC Technology Centre TIC I and TIC III, Serdang, UKM-MTDC Technology Centre, Bangi, UiTM-MTDC Technopreneur Centre, Shah Alam and FRIM-MTDC Technology Centre, Kepong.

Meanwhile, Nexagate's managing director Khairil Effendy said the company played a crucial role in assisting MTDC in achieving the certification by providing expert guidance and support throughout the process.
