Nsfc Need Quality Strikers To Stay Competitive In Super League - Devan

SEREMBAN, April 29 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan FC need quality strikers including imported ones who can score goals to enable the team to remain competitive in the Super League this season, said Head Coach K. Devan.

Without blaming his players who did their best despite losing 1-2 against Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) last night at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, Devan said the bluntness of the attacking front and the lack of imported players were among the reasons for the team's defeat.

"NSFC only had two imported players, whereas Kedah Darul Aman FC had five (imported) players and another on the bench. Clearly it was an import striker who scored their goals, but we have no import striker.

"I see my team's problem is that they have difficulty scoring goals, the players also lack quality in certain areas, if we want to compete with teams that have a better budget, we have to find a way...if not, we have to accept this kind of result," he told reporters after the match.

NSFC's import players who played in yesterday's match were Mark Herold Goulon and Levy Clement Madinda but Anselmo Arruda da Silva, known as Casagrande, was unable to play due to injury.

"Now the team needs to score goals, we conceded more, the players played hard until the end of the match, spirit alone is not enough, there must be quality, due to lack of quality, NSFC cannot compete with other teams," he said.

In the meantime, he said following discussions with the management, NSFC will play with the existing team and if the association's finances improve, the team will look for additional imported players during the second transfer window after this.

NSFC are currently ninth spot in the league table with 10 points and are scheduled to face Kuala Lumpur City on April 14 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
