KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) today announced the final list of 20 Malayan Tigress squad players for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. The squad will leave for Phnom Penh on Monday.
According to the list on FAM’s website fam.org.my, three captains have been named for the team - Steffi Sarge Kaur (defence), Nur Lyana Soberi and Farahiyah Ridzuan (midfield).
The goalkeeper is Nur Ezza Ashikin Abdul Razak while Intan Sarah Anisah Zulgafli and Henrietta Justine will spearhead the attack.
The squad, under head coach Soleen Al-Zoubi, will troop out for the first action of Group A against Vietnam on Wednesday (May 3), the Philippines on Saturday (May 6) and Myanmar on May 9 at the Army Stadium in Phnom Penh.
If the national team manage to get past the group stage, they will play in the semi-finals on May 12 and the final or third/fourth place decider on May 15.
Malaysia did not send a women’s football team to the last games in Hanoi.
