Kkd Committed To Ensure Hkl Is Equipped With 5g - Fahmi

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is committed to ensuring government hospital areas, particularly Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), are equipped with 5G network facilities which can improve the quality of health services for the people.

Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil, said KKD had a discussion with Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa recently about the issue of Internet coverage faced in most government hospitals, including HKL.

"I will also ask Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) to continue their discussions to identify locations where either towers or 5G equipment can be installed.

"This is important and I see that there may be an opportunity for us not only to complete the 4G network in HKL, but also examine what we can do for the installation of 5G," he told Bernama when met at HKL here today.

Fahmi said the 5G network in HKL can be expedited if issues related to the facility are resolved as soon as possible involving all stakeholders.

Earlier, Fahmi presented a donation to veteran journalist and former Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd assistant editor Mohd Sidek Salleh who is being treated at HKL, through the Kasih@HAWANA 2023 programme.

Also present were Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin, Bernama Head of Broadcasting (TV and Radio) and HAWANA 2023 Project director D. Arul Rajoo and HKL deputy director (Medicine) III Dr Fairoz Azlim Muslim.
