PHNOM PENH, May 7 (Bernama) -- The men's chinlone squad brought cheers to the national contingent when they won the silver medal at the 2023 SEA Games at the Basketball Hall of the Olympic Complex, here today.
In the 'same stroke' event, the national team collected a total of 179 points after collecting 89 and 90 points respectively in the first and second sets.
As expected, Thailand topped the event after collecting a total of 257 points when they won 145 points in the first set and 112 in the next set.
Hosts Cambodia and Myanmar, respectively shared the bronze medal after collecting a total of 175 and 174 points.
National sepak takraw team manager Ahmad Jais Baharun is satisfied with the achievement which meets the set target.
"The number of points collected is also not much different during practice... an average of 90 to 100 points per set," he said, admitting that Thailand are too superior in the event.
He hopes the national team can produce positive results in the chinlone event (linking) tomorrow.
