Hawana 2023: Bernama Receives Rm5,000 Sponsorship From Ptptn

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) --The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) received RM5,000 in cash sponsorship from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) today in conjunction with the organisation of National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2023 from May 27-29  in Ipoh, Perak.

A replica of the donation cheque was presented by PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid to Bernama chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin at Menara PTPTN here.

Ahmad Dasuki said the agency always supports the efforts and the role played by the media and was also grateful for the support given to PTPTN.

 “PTPTN’s Savings and National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) agenda has been much conveyed to the people through the media and this has immensely helped maintain PTPTN’s positive image.

“So, of course we are proud and honoured to celebrate HAWANA together with the media," he said.

Meanwhile, Roslan expressed his appreciation to PTPTN for the HAWANA 2023 sponsorship. 

“This time, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be with more than 1,000 media practitioners for the highlight of the HAWANA 2023 celebration and we hope the government will continue to assist the media,” he said.

Roslan described the prime minister’s presence at the event as an encouragement to also make the next edition a success and hoped that HAWANA would continue to receive support from all parties, including the corporate sector and the federal and state governments.

“We have yet to decide where HAWANA will be held next year, but we expect that there will be invitations from state governments to make it a success. HAWANA is also aimed at promoting state governments via any sector, including tourism,” he said.
