KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Southeast Asia's largest trade event of its kind, the Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) 2023 is expected to rake in close to RM200 million worth of trade compared to RM170 million recorded in 2022.

It is set to welcome 25,000 attendees from 52 countries from Sept 13 to 15, 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia, OGA 2023 is set to drive business growth and opportunities from energy transition in the Asia-Pacific region with 2,000 exhibitors and brands with international pavilions from China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

"For the 2023 show, I am pleased to share that the response is equally robust. The event will be held across seven exhibition halls, taking up 25 per cent of 20,000 square metres of space," Informa Markets Malaysia senior event manager Derrick Yeow told a media conference announcing OGA 2023 today.

As the conference partner, the Energy Industries Council (EIC) is also co-locating its EIC-Asia Pacific Energy Conversations with OGA for the first time.

The three-day conference will also hold a Leadership Roundtable to discuss actionable measures to make energy transition more realistic in the region.

The conference discussions led by 28 local and international speakers will address the future of the oil and gas sector as well as the energy industry in Asia, in particular, the decarbonisation pathways on how to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

OGA continues to draw solid backing from industry organisations with Talent Corporation Malaysia, Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) among its key supporting partners.

Yeow said that with MATRADE's collaboration, the International Sourcing Programme of connecting Malaysian and international companies has drawn confirmed interest from the Middle East, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia.
