Cyberjaya Innovation Week To Bring Together Malaysia's Best Innovation

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- Cyberjaya continues to lead the way in driving innovation in Malaysia by bringing together its thriving collaborative technology ecosystem for the ‘Cyberjaya Innovation Week’.

To be held from Aug 28 to Sept 10, 2023, the event expects to attract 10,000 participants from various organisations, industries, and backgrounds.

The two-week-long event will gather government agencies, including the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), local authority agencies, and Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the Tech Hub Developer to spearhead Cyberjaya’s growth, to celebrate the spirit of tech innovation within the city by giving access and creating opportunities for tech industry players.

MDEC chief executive officer Mahadhir Aziz said the agency’s participation in Cyberjaya Innovation Week underscores its unwavering commitment to nurturing a skilled and agile workforce among youths, equipping them with the digital skills required to excel in the fast-paced and dynamic digital landscape.

“By fostering hands-on learning experiences, we are nurturing a generation of tech-savvy innovators, laying the foundation for Malaysia to take a leading role as the Digital Hub of ASEAN,” he said in a statement today.

He said, aligned with the Malaysia Digital national strategic initiative and the transformative catalytic programmes (Pemangkin), MDEC is well-poised to shape a vibrant future, where technological innovation thrives and propels Malaysia to the forefront of the digital economy.

Meanwhile, Cyberview acting managing director Dr Mohd Hafiz Ibrahim said the Cyberjaya Innovation Week is akin to an Open Day, wherein businesses and organisations in the city open their doors and welcome everyone to inspect the innovations they have to offer.

“Shining a light on these innovative efforts is certainly timely and important, as the government is pushing to create new economic drivers through the empowerment of the spirit of innovation across society.

“We hope that what we do here in Cyberjaya can serve as an encouraging example of our potential as a nation,” he shared.

As Cyberjaya continues to position itself as a leading technology hub, Mohd Hafiz said the Cyberjaya Innovation Week will definitely play a vital role in driving its growth, attracting talent, and fostering innovation as a way of life.

“It will be a cornerstone event showcasing Cyberjaya's commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancements. Through its diverse range of activities, the event empowers startups, fosters collaboration, and creates a platform for knowledge exchange and networking,” he added.
