Mckl Celebrates 258 Graduates Of Its Cambridge A Level, Dece, Ausmat And Acca Programmes

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) proudly celebrates the achievement of its 258 students in a recent graduation ceremony held at its Kuala Lumpur campus, here.

The students are of its Cambridge A Level, Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE), Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) programmes.

MCKL said the graduates’ remarkable performance in their respective programmes is a testament to the institution’s reputation for 40 years of excellence in education.

“The graduation ceremony not only symbolises a noteworthy achievement in the student’s academic lives, signifying the culmination of years of hard work, commitment, and dedication but also serves as a testament to MCKL’s mission of nurturing individuals who excel academically while being grounded in values that serve as their life compass.

“It is anticipated that this values-based educational approach will continue to shape future leaders, innovators, and change-makers across various fields,” the college said in a statement, here, today.

MCKL said under the Cambridge A Level programme, this year’s graduating class attained a 99.5 per cent passing rate with almost 50 per cent of the class scoring a commendable 3As and above.

In addition, 24 students were awarded the prestigious Excellence Award for achieving a remarkable CGPA of 3.70 or higher.

Among the standout achievers was Dareen Kaur Kaulsay who secured the prestigious titles of Top in the World for Advanced Subsidiary Law and Top in Malaysia for Advanced Subsidiary Level English Literature, while Loo Jing Herng, another high achiever in the Cambridge A Level programme was honoured with the Bishop Denis C. Dutton Scholar 2023 Award.

As of now, MCKL has nurtured numerous award recipients since 2013 and consistently maintained an average 100 per cent pass rate for its Cambridge A Level programme over the past 9 years which has led MCKL students to earn prestigious titles such as Top in the World, Top in Malaysia, and High Achievements across various subjects.

On the other hand, in the DECE programme, nine students from the graduating class graduated with Distinctions, including Ling Yoong Le who was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award and Datuk Dr. Chiam Heng Keng Award 2023, in recognition for the outstanding 3.93 CGPA.

While, MCKL’s AUSMAT programme had over 46 per cent of its students achieving Australian Tertiary Admission Rank scores of 80 and above with Tham Ming Kit emerging as a standout achiever, boasting an ATAR score of 95.35 and receiving the Dr. F R Bhupalan Award 2023.
