Smix 2023 Targets 30,000 Visitors

MELAKA, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- The state government is targeting about 30,000 visitors ahead of the Smart Melaka International Conference and Expo 2023 (SMIX2023) from Oct 12 to 15 at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said the second SMIX2023 will be held on a larger scale compared to last year apart from including several other programmes. 

"The programmes will be held to bring all digital industry and smart city players from all over the country to this state to discuss and exchange views while holding various activities to develop the digital and innovation industry.

“The SMIX2023 will see it giving major impact to the economy and the development of the smart community in line with Melakaku Maju Jaya 2035 Strategic Plan (PSMJ2035) and the Smart Melaka Blueprint 2035,” he said at a media conference at Seri Negeri complex here today.

Also present were state  Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications Committee deputy chairman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abd Halem and Melaka ICT Holdings Sdn Bhd (MITCH) chief executive officer, Dr Nazdiana Ab Wahab.

Fairul Nizam said the programme will also featuring the keynote addresses of three personalities apart from a 40-member panel and moderators comprising reference experts from the digital technology industry in eight forums.

He said also held are eight programmes such as Malaysia Investment Day 2023 (MID2023), Karnival Kerjaya Digital Melaka MyFuture Jobs 2023, launching of RICE Melaka @ UTeM and launching of Bank Inovasi Melaka.

"Apart from that are the Expo Smart Melaka and Everxon Tech Expo, state level National Science Week, southern zone Malaysia Techlympics, Jelajah Saya Digital and the 2023 National Sports Day.

"Various interesting activities will also be held such as presentation on robotics, drone, exhibition and sales stalls, fun walk, indoor games and the Chief Minister’s E-Sport Cup,” he said.
