YUSRI WANTS PERAK FC TO MAINTAIN WINNING MOMENTUM

IPOH, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Perak FC coach Yusri Che Lah wants his players to maintain their winning momentum after a huge win over Kelantan FC (Red Warriors) in the Super League action at Stadium Perak here, last night.

He said even though his team was missing several key players, including Jesper Nyholm and Firdaus Saiyadi, the Bos Gaurus team managed to control the game well and obtained a valuable victory.

Yusri said that the team still has three away matches and one at the home ground to go through, and it is definitely not an easy task, as they will also have to face Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup second semi-final, to be played early next month in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

“The team understand what needs to be done and will follow the set plan. They earned three valuable points, with a big goal difference, thus improving on the team's standing in the league," he said in a press conference after the match.

“I believe tonight's (last night) win will boost their morale to take on JDT at the Stadium Sultan Ibrahim (in Iskandar Puteri), but we cannot remain in a lull for too long as our focus must be shifted to the Malaysia Cup.

In last night's match, Perak FC thrashed bottom-of-the-league Kelantan FC 8-0 in Perak Stadium, here.

Meanwhile, Red Warriors coach, Alfredo Vera, said that most of his young players who played last night lacked experience, and the team does not have players who can control the game.

“It was difficult for our young players to overcome their stronger and more experienced opponents.

“Our strategy for the next match remains unchanged, and we will work tirelessly and strive to play well. The players are not to be faulted because they have put all their heart into the match...it is just experience that gives the edge,” he added.
