Boboiboy Returns With Boboiboy Galaxy Season 2

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- After a five-year hiatus, the favourite local hero character of many, BoBoiBoy, is set to return with a new series, 'BoBoiBoy Galaxy', just in time for the upcoming school holiday season.

Animonsta Studios (Monsta) chief executive officer Nizam Abd Razak said Boboiboy Galaxy will be divided into four short series, namely ''BoBoiBoy Galaxy SORI', ''BoBoiBoy Galaxy Windara', ''BoBoiBoy Galaxy Gentar' and ''BoBoiBoy Galaxy Gur'latan'.

He said each of these short series contains six new episodes with different themes, based on the reimagined stories and adventures from the second season of the 'BoBoiBoy Galaxy comic series produced by Monsta.

"According to studies, many fans, both children and adults, are eagerly waiting for new episodes of 'BoBoiBoy. It is divided into short series to adapt to changing viewer trends, as not all viewers watch all episodes at once. So, we decided to release a short series of BoBoiBoy during every school holiday," he told reporters after the announcement event of the new series of BoBoiBoy Galaxy here today.

The storyline and adventures of BoBoiBoy Galaxy are a continuation of the BoBoiBoy Movie 2, which was released in 2019, said Nizam, adding that 'BoBoiBoy will also have new powers and introduce new characters and planets.

'BoBoiBoy Galaxy SORI short series will premiere on popular streaming platforms Netflix and Monsta YouTube Channel in Asia, including Japan and Korea, from Dec 3. For local viewers, it will be broadcast on TV9 starting Dec 13.

Monsta is working on the fourth season of Mechamato animated series, while waiting for P.A.P.A Movie Game On film scheduled for a nationwide cinema release at the end of next year.

"The Mechamato Movie will also be dubbed into Japanese and available in Japan in the first quarter of 2024, besides being scheduled for Netflix streaming starting from Nov 13.

"The first and second seasons of Mechamato The Animated Series are gaining international attention as broadcasting stations in Canada, Brazil and Australia will air the series on their platforms starting next year," he said. 

Monsta is committed to creating content that is engaging and safe for children and families to watch, ensuring that today's generation has reliable local icons, Nizam added.
