A Special Award was also presented to a Qatari philanthropist and entrepreneur with caudal regression syndrome, Ghanim Al Muftah, to acknowledge his empowering commitment and inspiration to persons with disabilities (PwD) communities around the world.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the HRD Awards was a great platform for recognising companies that have not only been proactive in training their employees but have also designed innovative approaches to enhance their people's management practices.

"It serves as a yardstick to measure the capabilities of our workforce against the global talent pool, underlining Malaysia's commitment to steering the growth of human capital development across the ASEAN region.

"Looking ahead, I firmly believe that there are boundless pathways and avenues to acquire new knowledge for those with a dedicated mindset. Therefore, it is imperative that we continuously strive to improve ourselves by harnessing multiple avenues to unearth the diverse strengths of our people," he said in his opening speech at the award ceremony.

Fadillah also congratulated all the finalists and HRD Corp for their contribution and dedication towards strengthening Malaysia’s human capital development ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar said the awards are also a testament to HRD Corp's commitment to honouring and promoting excellence in the workplace by emphasising the importance of fostering a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement.

The event was also attended by Deputy Human Resources Minister Mustapha Sakmud and HRD Corp chief executive Datuk Shahul Dawood.

The HRD Awards was introduced by HRD Corp under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resources in 2001.

It was developed to celebrate excellence and innovation in the field of human resource development by recognising employers, training providers and trainers who demonstrated professional excellence and emerged as architects of the country’s human capital transformation and innovation processes.
