PUTRAJAYA, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- All exhibitors at the Rural Entrepreneurs Carnival (KUD)@Putrajaya 2023, which will take place at Anjung Floria here from tomorrow until this Sunday, will accept cashless payment methods.

Rural and Regional Development Ministry deputy secretary-general (policy) Datuk Che Murad Sayang Ramjan said KUD@Putrajaya 2023 would serve as a platform to promote cashless payments, thus ensuring smooth business transactions between entrepreneurs and visitors.

“We have reminded all entrepreneurs participating as exhibitors to provide a QR code at their respective booth as we want this event to be in line with digital advancements.

“Therefore, it won’t be a problem if visitors don’t carry any money and entrepreneurs won’t have to prepare cash balances,” he told reporters after inspecting the carnival preparation here today.

The five-day KUD@Putrajaya 2023 will operate from 10 am to 10 pm daily and is eyeing one million visitors.

Featuring the rural tourism component as the latest addition and over 1,000 entrepreneurs, the carnival aims to generate RM10 million worth of transactions and business matching.

Che Murad Sayang said the new component has received support from all Regional Development Authorities who would bring rural tourism products from their respective areas to be promoted to visitors.

Among the products set to capture visitors’ interest are glamping near padi fields while enjoying coffee served by rural entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Kedah Regional Development Authority (Keda), a product exhibition in a boat by the South East Johor Development Authority (Kejora) and popular dishes from various states.

He also said that a lucky draw would take place on the last day of the carnival, where a lucky visitor would win the main prize of a Perodua Myvi car. Visitors can participate in the lucky draw by scanning the QR code at the main entrance.

Meanwhile, Che Murad Sayang said the logistics preparations for the carnival have reached 90 per cent and are expected to be fully completed tonight.
