Kampung Wang Kelian Villagers Express Appreciation Towards Rahmah Sale Programme

PADANG BESAR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Villagers of Kampung Wang Kelian near here said they felt appreciated by the government after the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) held Mobile Rahmah Sales every month in their village located far away from the state capital, Kangar.

Villagers met by Bernama at the Rahmah Sale held at Nurul Husna Mosque there today gushed about how convenient it was for them to buy necessities without having to make the almost 80-kilometre journey to other places, something that the 400 villagers would have to do as there were no nearby shopping malls or grocery shops.

Villager Muhammad Irwan Ali, 20, said the sale was a great help and allowed him to get whatever he needed for his family without travelling far.

"I’m the one who has to purchase necessities for the family, so I usually take the motorcycle to Beseri or Kangar, which is so far away, so I hope that the government carries on with such sales,” he said.

Fellow villager Hasiah Wi, 73, expressed his gratitude over the government’s concern to carry out the Rahmah Sale at her village as it made it so convenient for her to obtain her necessities.

"My husband and I are both elderly, so I wait for my children to buy necessities, if we want to do it ourselves, we’d have to take the motorcycle and travel along such a hilly route,” she said.

Today’s Mobile Rahmah Sale was organised by the Perlis KPDN to channel basic necessities at affordable prices to Malaysians.

Its director Norazah Jaapar said that they were focusing on Kampung Wang Kelian, which is in the Beseri state constituency and have organised the sale on Saturday every month since September.
