KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- The World War Children Care Foundation (WCCF) officially launched its international humanitarian mission towards aiding children impacted by war with a swearing-in ceremony of the foundation's committee today.

As a registered non-profit organisation in Malaysia, the foundation's main objective is to rescue and rehabilitate children living in conflict zones and to provide educational opportunities that can foster the children's physical and mental growth.

WCCF president Linda Wong said in 2024, the foundation will spearhead the "Dove Aid Operation" (DAO) programme in close collaboration with international organisations through a holistic approach that aims to safely extract children from war zones, offering them refuge in secure shelters.

"Together, we will identify the most urgently needed rescue areas, assemble teams comprising medical personnel, social workers, and dedicated volunteers, and distribute essential supplies such as food, medicine, and bedding," she said in her speech during the launch of WCCF here today.

The philanthropist said the foundation plans to establish International Humanitarian War Children Schools in Malaysia and China that will school war children from diverse backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures under the Caring Education curriculum that will be guided by the Yi Hai Education Group.

She said the curriculum's goal is to support children in gradually dispelling the psychological shadows that loom over them, releasing resentment, restoring confidence, and reigniting optimism.

"We aim to showcase the incredible strength and courage of war children as they reintegrate into society, becoming compassionate individuals who contribute to rebuilding their homes and caring for others in need.

"Currently, tens of thousands of children across the globe still endure the hardships of war. These children need not only our care, support, and love, but also urgent action. Therefore, we passionately call on more compassionate business organisations and individuals to join hands with us," she added.

Moreover, the foundation unveiled of a business charity campaign called “Healing the World Thru Business” where the first committed corporate donation to the foundation via Green Smart Planet Platform’s continual business revenue has been initiated with a mock cheque presented for RM1,217,000.

The foundation has also initiated a “Saving War Children with Your Cup of Coffee” where the attendees voluntarily participated by adopting cups of premium coffee presented by Clemént Coffee Boutique with all business profit donated to the foundation.

The foundation has appointed representatives for various chapters in Malaysia, China, Serbia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Hong Kong and Taipei.

The launch was also attended by Deputy Director-General of the Children’s Division Wan Noraidah Wan Mohd Zain on behalf of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
