JERTIH, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- A retired military officer raised a white flag at his home in Kampung Air Tawar due to a two-day water supply interruption, attributing it to a misunderstanding.
Lt. Colonel (Rtd) Mohd Rashid Mohamad Ibrahim, 63, initially expressed dissatisfaction on Facebook, thinking the water delivery was mishandled.
However, the delivery was by volunteers, not Syarikat Air Terengganu or the government.
Despite the inconvenience, Mohd Rashid clarified that the white flag was not a protest but a signal for water assistance.
Volunteers continued to fill his tank, and he thanked them for their dedication.
Mohd Rashid's experience is part of the water supply issues affecting Besut residents since Jan 1.
SATU identified a leakage in a 600mm pipe in Sungai Besut, affecting 2,670 users in 11 villages. Repairs are ongoing, with an expected resolution by January 21.
