LABUAN, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- The Labuan Public Works Department (JKR) has taken a leap into cutting-edge technology with the launch of the Labuan Roadster mobile application, designed to monitor the conditions of federal roads on this duty-free island.

Developed by the Road Division team of the department, the Labuan Roadster application is a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing the management of federal road assets and improving the overall quality of the department's work.

Labuan JKR director Mohd Faizul Mohd Ali Hanapiah said the application would allow all department staff to contribute valuable insights into the current road conditions under its jurisdiction.

"The Labuan Roadster is exclusively designed for Labuan JKR staff, enabling them to promptly share information about the road conditions they traverse daily or encounter in various locations, facilitating immediate actions," he told Bernama today.

The Labuan Roadster features three main menus, namely 'Complain,' 'Notification of Damage (NoD),' and 'Request for Inspection (RFI),' providing a comprehensive platform for staff to communicate issues efficiently.

Mohd Faizul said Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan was briefed on the application when the latter officiated the Dewan Sri Labuan during a working visit to Labuan on Jan 22.

He said the application would also elevate the quality of services provided to the people of Labuan.

"This application aligns with the latest technology trends, particularly the green technology (paperless), placing the management of federal road assets on a global standard, ensuring effectiveness and systematic operations," he added.

The Labuan Roadster not only modernises road condition monitoring but also represents a step towards environmentally friendly and efficient practices, making it a milestone in Labuan JKR's commitment to innovation and excellence.
