Pat 2024 Features 11 New Activities To Draw More Visitors

KANGAR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The Perlis East Wind Festival 2024, known as Pesta Angin Timur Perlis (PAT 2024), is set to take place from March 1 to 3 in Kampung Lat Seribu, Tambun Tulang, Arau, featuring 11 new activities aimed at attracting visitors.

Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli announced a range of new activities for the upcoming festival, including hot air balloon flights, a hay art tunnel, a paramotor competition, a parachute show, a motorised hang glider, and a kayak competition, among a total of 33 activities planned for the event.

"In conjunction with the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025, we are introducing a variety of distinctive programmes tailored for individuals across all segments of society," he said during a PAT 2024 press conference at the State Legislative Assembly Complex here today.

Also present at the conference were the (Culture) deputy secretary-general of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff, and the National Culture and Arts Department state director, Norazlin Nordin.

Mohd Shukri anticipates a substantial increase in attendance at this year's event, projecting over 350,000 visitors, a significant rise from the 350,000 attendees recorded in the previous year.

"Insya-Allah, people will visit Perlis this year because the school holidays started in February, so people can celebrate PAT 2024 together," he said.

Underlining the extensive collaboration involving 128 agencies to ensure the success of PAT 2024, Mohd Yusri aspires for this year's edition to surpass its predecessor in terms of organisation and impact.

Emphasising the positive partnership between the Ministry and state government, he acknowledged the ongoing improvements in each edition, with the potential not only to boost tourism but also to benefit the local communities in Perlis and neighbouring states.
