Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation Group (PKPS) chief executive oficer, Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the strategic alliance through PKPS is to strengthen the food security agenda under the framework of the Selangor Agro Transformation Plan (PeTA).

"The allocation which will be channeled to KPKM amounts to RM24 million involving several agricultural projects that have already started since the beginning of this year.

"Among them are a 300-acre maize planting project in Kuala Langat Selatan and Rawang, a dairy cattle farm development project in the Sungai Tengi PKPS farm, a cash and high-value crop project in Selangor Fruit Valley and a Selangor food store project," he said after the MOU document exchange session at the closing ceremony of the Central Zone MADANI Rakyat programme at the Kuala Selangor Sports Complex today.

Mohamad Khairil said KPKM will act as the financier of the programme and provide assistance with technical expertise while PKPS will provide land and participants for all these programmes.

"Both organisations will also streamline their roles in the supply chain to ensure products can reach the people at reasonable prices," he said.
