172 Sk Changkat Jong Pupils Receive School Supplies From Gas Malaysia

TELUK INTAN, March 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 172 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Changkat Jong, here, received school supplies under the 'Back to School' programme from Gas Malaysia Energy and Services Sdn Bhd (GMES), a subsidiary of Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia).

All the pupils, from Years One to Six at the school, are from the asnaf and B40 groups, who received school essentials such as school bags, uniforms, stationery and exercise books, all worth about RM200 each.

Gas Malaysia’s head of corporate affairs, Kamarul Ariffin Ibrahim, said that the schooling aid also received cooperation from Central Medicare Sdn Bhd (Central Medicare), which also donated schooling supplies to eligible students.

“This school assistance programme is one of Gas Malaysia's corporate social responsibilities (CSR), which has been implemented since 2019.

“Apart from SK Changkat Jong, we have delivered schooling assistance to the students of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Batang Kali, Selangor, involving a total of 350 recipients,” he said when met after delivering the school supplies today.

Also present were Gas Malaysia's head of marketing, Syahril Nizam Mohd Hashim and Central Medicare government affairs relations officer, Mohamad Hisham Mohd Taufek.

Kamarul Ariffin said that the school assistance programme will be continued and expanded in the future, with the selection of different schools every year.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Hisham said that the school assistance programme was held for the first time in collaboration with Gas Malaysia, as one of the efforts to ease the burden of parents who are less able to buy their children's school supplies.
