SINGAPORE, March 2 (Bernama) --  A person has gone missing following a collision between two pleasure craft off Singapore’s Pulau Hantu in the southern part of the country at about 1:30 pm today.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in the incident, five passengers had fallen overboard but four have been recovered safely.

“MPA has deployed patrol craft to the area and is coordinating search efforts with assets from the Police Coast Guard and the Singapore Civil Defence Force,” it said in a statement.

The MPA is also issuing navigational broadcasts to vessels in the vicinity to keep a lookout for any person in the water.

According to MPA website, a pleasure craft is any craft which is intended for use within the port exclusively for sport or pleasure purposes.
