"For example air conditioner, comes with complimentary installation and maintenance service every six to 12 months to ensure the product performs at the optimum level.
"Customers can also intergrate and control the LG products with LG ThinQ app, creating a connected ecosystem within their home, managing all LG products in one place, be it at home or on the go," she told members of the media when met after the launch.
In addition, Sam said LG Rent-Up programme includes free delivery service for all nine offered products, expert consultation and standard warranty throughout the rental period.
She said the introduction of the rental programme consisting nine products was driven by customer demand since the launch of water purifier and air purifier rental packages by LG in 2019.
"Until 2023 for five years we received good response from our customers about the rental packages and they started asking when we are going to introduce other products like refrigerator and washing machine," she said while explaining that the demand for LG rental products increased from 35.13 percent in 2021 to 82.68 percent in 2023.
She mentioned that due to the increasing demand for rent-to-own products, LG Rent-Up, which is the first of its kind launched by LG in Malaysia, is set to be introduced in Thailand, Taiwan, and India in the upcoming years.
