KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Khaled Khiari discussed collaboration in peacekeeping operations regarding the ongoing situations in Palestine and Myanmar.

According to a post on the Deputy Minister's Facebook account, he received a courtesy visit from Khaled Khiari at the Parliament building this morning.

Regarding Myanmar, he stated that their discussion focused more on the setbacks and challenges faced in implementing the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus (5PC).

Mohamad stated that Malaysia would utilise the Troika mechanism and emphasise the need for inclusive engagement to address the situation in Myanmar.

"I will also emphasise Malaysia's commitment to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and remain dedicated to working closely with the UN and the international community to find a peaceful solution for Palestine," he said in today's Facebook post.

Meanwhile, concerning ASEAN and the UN, he mentioned that both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in addressing complex international security and safety challenges in the region.
