KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 (Bernama) -- Combat Baze has invested RM80 million to develop a cutting-edge sports and entertainment hub in KL Base -- a project which is set to increase Kuala Lumpur’s attraction as a premier tourist destination.

The hub, also known as Combat Baze, will feature Asia’s most thrilling indoor shooting range, the Combat Shooting Club, and Combat Adventure Fields, said Datuk Patrick Ong, the sports and entertainment company’s managing director.

It will also boast paintball battlefields, ATV (all-terrain vehicle) tracks, e-kart experiences, exclusive lounges, food and beverage offerings, as well as other luxury amenities, he said to Bernama at the groundbreaking ceremony and soft launch of the project here today.

At the same time, the addition of a Web3 Hub within the premises will provide a space for NFT (non-fungible token or a digital identifier) enthusiasts, artists, tech lovers and entrepreneurs to come together, share ideas, and explore digital innovation.

These attractions promise adrenaline-fueled experiences tailored not only to combat-themed entertainment aficionados but also to individuals, families and tourists seeking an extraordinary adventure in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, said Ong.

Set in KL Base -- formerly the Royal Military Air Force (RMAF) base in Sungai Besi -- part of the overall investment involves leasing land from Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, with plans afoot for an International Friendship Park in the future.

Meanwhile, KL Base director, Adrian ooi Kien Meng said that KL Base focuses on Bold, Adventure, Sports and Entertainment (BASE) activities and aims to be a premier destination for active living, offering diverse activities.

Having welcomed over 250,000 attendees in the last two years, KL Base anticipates continued growth through partnerships with renowned operators like Combat Baze.

Future plans include an International Friendship Park, showcasing global arts, culture, food, and festivals.

With support from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, he said KL Base is set to launch exciting initiatives in the near future, enriching Kuala Lumpur's offerings and solidifying its position as a dynamic destination for active living enthusiasts.
