"thank You Teacher", Contributions Of Educators Are Always Revered

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- "Thank you, Teacher," a simple phrase that holds profound significance for those who have dedicated their lives to teaching and shaping young minds.

May 16 is a highly anticipated day each year, not only for educators but for the entire society. It is a day when everyone takes the opportunity to celebrate by offering prayers and convey Happy Teacher's Day wishes.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof remarked that Teacher's Day is profoundly meaningful and rightly celebrated to acknowledge the education and guidance provided by teachers in building a remarkable society.

In his Teacher's Day message on Facebook today, he also expressed his gratitude to all educators nationwide for their invaluable contributions to Malaysia's education system.

"On this Teacher's Day, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to all the teachers in Malaysia for their contributions, dedication, and sincerity in nurturing the nation's future generations."

"The theme for this year's Teacher's Day is ‘Guru Jauhari Digital Aspirasi Negara Madani’. We are currently witnessing rapid changes driven by technological advancements, so we must quickly adapt to this new norm by embracing media literacy and digitalisation," he said.

Teacher's Day is celebrated on May 16 each year in Malaysia. This year's national celebration will be held in Kuantan and officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang stated that Teacher's Day is not only a recognition of all educators but also a motivation for them to continue striving to improve the quality of education for students.

He emphasised that teachers truly deserve recognition and respect for their dedication and patience in imparting knowledge, providing guidance, and serving to educate the nation’s children, helping them become knowledgeable and virtuous individuals.

Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr. Zaliha Mustafa observed that in this era of digital transition, teachers serve as craftsmen refining the nation's treasures, with each piece of knowledge they impart contributing to the development of future generations, fostering an intelligent and ethical Malaysia MADANI.

"Today, we celebrate not only the wisdom of teachers and educators but also their perseverance in navigating the challenging digital era.

"To all teachers in Malaysia, I wish you a Happy Teacher's Day and hope you are blessed with good health, abundant sustenance, and ease in all your endeavours," she said.

The public also joined in celebrating teachers by sending messages and prayers and sharing cherished memories with their teachers on various social media platforms today, including on X, where the hashtag #HariGuru2024 was widely used.

X user @sallehabdulsal1 tweeted: "Happy Teacher's Day 2024 to all dedicated educators. Thank you immensely for all your efforts and sacrifices in shaping the minds and future of our children."

Another X user, @4zimz, tweeted: "Happy Teacher's Day to all educators. Thank you for your service over the years."

On Facebook, users posted Happy Teacher's Day messages and nostalgic photos taken with their teachers. Many also shared pictures of their children preparing gifts for their teachers in anticipation of the Teacher's Day celebrations at their schools today.
