KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) secured their second win of the season to top the Super League standings after defeating Kelantan Darul Naim (KDN) FC 3-0 tonight.

In the match held at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, the home team got their first goal through Nigerian import player, Ismaheel Akinade, in the 35th minute from the penalty spot.

TFC was awarded the penalty by referee Muhammad Shukor Zulkiflee, who confirmed that Muhammad Safawi Rasid was fouled in the box after reviewing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) footage.

KDN tried to get back into the game through counter-attacks, but The Turtles, who dominated possession, doubled the lead in the 45th minute through midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov.

Tomislav Steinbruckner’s men secured a comfortable position when Manuel Ott scored the third goal in the 47th minute, delighting over 13,000 home fans.

The victory saw TFC climb to the top of the Super League standings with seven points, surpassing giants Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), while KDN, who have yet to register a draw or a win, sit at the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, in another match at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, Perak FC beat hosts Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA) 2-0.

South Korean import Lee Tae Min bagged the goals in the 16th and 76th minutes for the visitors to send Perak up to sixth place, while KDA sit second from the bottom.
