KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- New Zealand companies have been urged to explore joint ventures with Negeri Sembilan, particularly in the burgeoning halal industry.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that the state offers strategic advantages for foreign investors across various industries, including pharmaceuticals, food technology, agriculture, halal products, and the high-tech sector.

“I would like to remind everyone that Negeri Sembilan's strategic location is a major factor in attracting foreign investors to establish industries, thereby stimulating economic development,” he said during a networking session organised by Invest Negeri Sembilan in Auckland, New Zealand recently.

“Furthermore, multinational companies from Japan, the United States, South Korea, and the Netherlands have established their presence, which proves their confidence in the state government's ability to provide a conducive business and investment environment,” he said. The post was on his official Facebook account.

The event was held in collaboration with the New Zealand Malaysia Business Association (NZMBA) and the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council (ANZBC).

Aminuddin’s delegation included Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim, Seremban mayor Datuk Masri Razali, and Invest NS chief executive officer Datuk Najmuddin Sharif Sarimon.

Their presence underscored Negeri Sembilan's commitment to fostering international business relations and exploring new avenues for investment.

Meanwhile, NZMBA president Dave Ananth expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities presented.

"We are encouraged by the presence of the Menteri Besar and his team," Ananth remarked, emphasising the potential for fruitful collaborations.

His team will discuss investment opportunities with local players in the upcoming Fieldays, the Southern Hemisphere's largest agricultural event and the ultimate launch platform for cutting-edge technology and innovation next week, he said.

This proactive approach aims to bridge connections and pave the way for collaborative ventures that can benefit both regions, he added.
