130-year-old Algerian Woman Welcomed Warmly For Hajj Pilgrimage

KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- Sarahouda Stiti, a 130-year-old Algerian woman, had a memorable experience when she was warmly welcomed upon her arrival to perform Hajj this season.

Saudia Airlines shared this remarkable story on X (formerly Twitter).

"Saudia warmly welcomed Sarahouda Stiti from Algeria. At 130 years old, she is the oldest Hajj pilgrim on Saudia’s flights.

"May she and all pilgrims have a blessed Hajj journey," the statement said.

The airline also posted a video of their staff welcoming Sarahouda at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

Meanwhile, according to a report from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), 1,547,295 pilgrims have arrived for this year’s Hajj season as of June 10 (Monday).

This total includes all pilgrims entering the Kingdom via air, land, and sea ports.

A breakdown of the arrival data shows that 1,483,312 pilgrims arrived by air, 59,273 entered through land ports, and 4,710 arrived via sea ports.
