Indonesia Condemns Israeli Airstrike On School In Refugee Camp

08/07/2024 03:44 PM

JAKARTA, July 8 (Bernama) -- Indonesia has vehemently denounced Israel's attack on the Al-Jaouni school operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

The attack, which took place on Saturday, was condemned by Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry on Monday as a clear violation of international law.

“Israel continues to commit atrocities and violates international law, causing civilian casualties to continue to rise,” the ministry stated on its official social media account on Monday.

The ministry also questioned the response of the United Nations Security Council and nations supporting Israel, urging decisive measures against what it described as ongoing atrocities.

Palestinian officials report at least 16 killed and dozens injured in an Israeli air strike on a UNRWA-run school in Gaza, which housed thousands of displaced people in the camp.
