KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- Visitors to Felda Settlers’ Day 2024 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Selangor, from Friday to Sunday will have the opportunity to taste 317 dishes from all over Malaysia.

Chief of Cluster 8 (Food Festival) for Felda Settlers’ Day 2024, Hasrin Ismail, assured visitors of a gastronomic adventure featuring dishes prepared by 255 Felda traders showcasing the unique flavours of their respective states.

He said the programme will be held at three locations, namely Laman Tiba, Dewan DG and Boulevard, starting from 10 am until midnight.

“Don’t miss the opportunity to taste a wide array of dishes from all over the country at Felda Settlers’ Day 2024,” he said on the ‘Apa Khabar Malaysia’ programme on Bernama TV today.

Hasrin said that the event also serves as a platform for settlers to explore new business opportunities and expand their enterprises.

“This is one of the objectives of this event, namely to open up new opportunities, such as through business matching. There might be partners out there interested in collaborating with Felda traders,” he said.

He added that Felda would hold a lucky draw during the Food Festival for all visitors and participants, featuring various enticing prizes, including the grand prize of an electric motorcycle.

For the first time, Felda Settlers’ Day will be held over three days this year, targeting an attendance of 500,000 Felda settlers as well as the general public.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the event on July 14.

Other interesting activities include the Himpunan Dua Roda/Serlahkan Kehebatan X Felda programme, which is expected to gather 50,000 motorcycle sports enthusiasts from all over the country and set a record in the Malaysia Book of Records.

Felda Settlers’ Day falls on July 7 every year and was established by the second Prime Minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, who was also the founder of Felda.

This date serves as a tribute to the Felda settlers, who have contributed to the country’s development for nearly 70 years.
