TOKYO, July 12 (Bernama-Sputnik) -- Russia, despite numerous sanctions, is capable of fighting for long periods of time, reported Sputnik.
Japan's 2024 Defence White Paper, the Defence Ministry's annual report, showed on Friday that Russia "maintains military power" due to a number of factors, including the round-the-clock operation of the military industry, among others.
"Even under sanctions, Russia can continue to produce ammunition and weapons in sufficient quantities at the level of former Soviet Union technology, which indicates that (Russia) will be able to continue fighting for a long time," the paper read.
The report noted that Russia was able to quadruple the production capacity of its military industry in 2023.
"The Russian side quadrupled the production capacity of the military industry in 2023 and is increasing the rate of repair and production of every type of weapon, making it even more important for Ukraine to receive increased assistance from Europe and the United States," the ministry said in the report.
