15/07/2024 06:02 PM

KOTA BHARU, July 15 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan government has not received any report on the spread of deviant teachings known as Millah Abraham in the state.

State Islamic Development, Dakwah, Information, and Regional Relations Committee chairman Mohd Asri Mat Daud said that as of now, the spread of deviant teachings in the state is still under control.

“So far, we have not received any information or reports about the existence of Millah Abraham teachings in this state. With the strict enforcement by the state government, the situation (the spread of deviant teachings in the state) is under control.

“I urge the people in this state to report any groups spreading deviant teachings immediately to the authorities,” he told reporters here today.

The Jemaah Ulama meeting of the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) in 2017 decided that the teachings of Millah Abraham were deviant and contrary to the Islamic teachings.

According to media reports last Thursday, the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department arrested three individuals suspected of following the Millah Abraham sect declared as deviant.

They were found recruiting and spreading these teachings to their close family and local residents and are believed to have been active for more than a year.
