IPOH, July 19 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized 463 packets of snacks worth RM2,720 in Buntong yesterday for allegedly bearing uncertified halal logos.
Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said the action was taken following a raid on snack premises in Kampung Kacang Putih, which were suspected of using fake halal logos for trade and sale purposes.
He said several snack products were found marked with such logos, adding that they were intended for retail and wholesale distribution in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.
“The case is being investigated under Order 8(a) of the Trade Description (Certification and Marking of Halal) Order 2011,” he said in a statement today.
