Paris 2024: Skateboarding Event Postoned Due To Rain

27/07/2024 05:12 PM

PARIS, July 27 (Bernama) -- Rain forced Paris 2024 Olympic Games organisers to postpone the men’s street skateboarding event scheduled to begin on the first official day of competition, today.

“Due to adverse overnight weather conditions and following a meeting this morning with all relevant organisers, a decision was taken to postpone the event to Monday (July 29),” the organisers announced in a statement.

Based on the initial schedule, 22 skaters would be competing in the men’s street event preliminaries this morning at Place de la Concorde, with the top eight advancing to the finals in evening.

Parts of Paris were affected by rain since yesterday morning, which also disrupted last night’s opening ceremony along Seine River.

The women’s street event is scheduled to proceed tomorrow, as of now.
