50 Schools to Participate In Yayasan Petronas’ Eco-schools Terenganu Programme

KUALA NERUS, July 28 (Bernama) -- A total of 50 schools, including two special needs schools in Terengganu, have been selected to participate in the Eco-Schools Terengganu programme organised by Yayasan Petronas.

Yayasan Petronas Chief Executive Officer, Shariah Nelly Francis said the programme, involving teachers and students from primary and secondary schools, will be implemented from 2023 to 2026.

She said the initiative is a collaboration between Yayasan Petronas, the Terengganu State Education Department (JPNT) and the Green Growth Asia Foundation (GGAF).

"The Eco-Schools Terengganu programme aims to encourage active student participation in environmental conservation efforts.

"Through this programme, selected students will be empowered as proactive environmental agents by enhancing their environmental knowledge and skills within the school curriculum," she said at the launch of the Eco-Schools Terengganu Programme here today. 

Also present were Ministry of Education  Day School Management Division director Abdul Muie Ngah and GGAF Executive Director, Dr Mahadi Mohamad.
