BUKIT MERTAJAM, July 28 (Bernama) --  UDA Holdings Berhad is targeting RM37 million in property sales throughout the three-day UDA Carnival 2024@Penang, focusing on its latest offerings that cater to all generations in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak, said UDA Holdings Berhad chairman Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

He said that as the leader in property development and asset management, UDA Holdings is concentrating on 13 products in various property segments at the carnival that kicked off on Friday.

“This includes affordable homes, open category homes, commercial lots as well as shop offices such as the Kuala Terengganu Golf Resort (Phase 6, Package 1) in Kuala Terengganu, Pelindung Heights (Phase 1B, Package 4) in Kuantan as well as Areca Terrace (Phase 4B) and UDA Heights (Phase 1C ) in Bandar UDA Utama.

“We are also planning to launch more products this year such as Mawar @ Taman Sultan Sallehuddin in Alor Setar, Neu Pendington (Phases 1A and 1B) in Kuching, Crescent Dew (Phase 1B) and Crescent Dew Commercial in Kepala Batas, Wakaf Seetee Aisah 2 (shop offices) in Seberang Jaya, Taman Sena Permai in Kangar, Sedili Residensi in Kota Tinggi, 21 BizHUB in Bandar UDA Utama and Residensi Akasia Raya in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

He made these remarks at the closing ceremony of UDA Carnival 2024@Penang at Gravitas Jalan Baru Prai parking site today, officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. UDA Holdings Berhad president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Salem Kailany was also present.

The carnival, now in its third year, opened with a fresh concept aimed at attracting more visitors, featuring seven zones, namely Pavilion UDA, Ruang Rasa, Aura Wanita, Maskulin, Fiesta Bakat, Pa & Ma, and various sales booths.

Mohd Annuar said that this year’s carnival aims to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to be more sustainable and competitive and to allow the community to acquire suitable property in line with its focus on promoting property ownership in urban areas.

“The target was to involve 160 entrepreneurs with a sales target of RM2.5 million,” he said, adding that the carnival was also held to boost MSME entrepreneurs through its main incentives: the UDA Entrepreneur Incentive and Entrepreneur Empowerment programmes.

He said this aligns with UDA’s LIFE (Legacy, Integrated, Finesse dan Enrich) branding that contributes to its sustainability and empowers the MADANI economy.

According to him, various new attractions were introduced in conjunction with the carnival, including collaborations with the National Sports Council, Ideaktiv, DC Healthcare Holdings Berhad, Malaysian Armed Forces, CelcomDigi, and Seberang Perai City Council.

He noted that collaborations could create business opportunities and provide knowledge sharing to achieve social inclusivity and equal opportunity goals, especially among entrepreneurs from the asnaf group (eligible to receive tithes) and people with disabilities.

The carnival offers various sales booths, government agencies, and strategic partners exhibitions, sports activities, concerts, and MADANI Sales by the Malaysian Cooperative Societies Commission (SKM), aiming to attract 100,000 visitors.

Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, UDA Cares, a zakat wakalah contribution totalling RM30,000 was presented to 10 asnaf entrepreneurs. It also allocated RM128,450 to Tabung SSPN Prime for nearly 1,500 students.

After Penang, UDA Carnival 2024 will tour the Klang Valley from Sept 27 to 29, followed by Johor (Oct 11 to 13) and Sarawak (Oct 25 to 27).
