KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Weber Meyer Sdn Bhd, an Internet service provider based in Kuala Lumpur, aims to secure 10,000 customers for its newly launched seventh-generation wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi 7) broadband Internet service by the end of this year.
Its chief operating officer, Leslie David, said the company is dedicating this whole year to reaching as many customers in the Klang Valley as possible.
“We have already begun our process and have a substantial customer base here. We aim to achieve 10,000 customers by the end of this year. That is our initial target, and we will move on from there,” he told the media after the launching ceremony here, today.
David also said the company plans to expand the service to other states, including Sabah and Sarawak, by the middle of next year.
Weber Meyer's new wireless broadband service is set to be available in multi-tenanted dwellings such as flats, apartments, condominiums, and clustered homes. It plans to further expand it to more areas in the future.
The service would likely be the country's cheapest and fastest direct-to-device Internet connectivity.
With plans starting from RM5 and capping at RM50 for speeds of up to one gigabit per second (Gbps) and beyond, Weber Meyer is making high-speed Internet accessible to everyone, especially to the Bottom 40 (B40) household income group, students, and workers.
