KANGAR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Perlis athletes who win medals at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024, to be held in Sarawak from Aug 17 to 24, will receive cash incentives in recognition of their achievements.
Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli announced that individual athletes winning gold medals will receive RM1,000, silver medallists RM700, and bronze medallists RM400.
"For doubles or groups of two to five people, the incentive is RM600 for gold, RM400 for silver, and RM200 for bronze per person. For teams of more than five, the incentive is RM300 for gold, RM200 for silver, and RM100 for bronze per person," he said.
He made the announcement during the Perlis Contingent Flag Handover Ceremony for the SUKMA Sarawak 2024 at the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium here last night, which was officiated by the Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
Also present were Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and state Youth and Sports Development Committee chairman, Wan Zikri Afthar Ishak.
Perlis are targeting 10 gold medals at this edition of the SUKMA.
