US Dollar Rises In Late Tuesday Trading

NEW YORK, Aug 7 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.27 per cent to 102.969 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was down to US$1.0929 from US$1.0951 in the previous session, and the British pound lost to US$1.2698 from US$1.2757 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 145.02 Japanese yen, higher than 143.51 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar added to 0.8530 Swiss francs from 0.8507 Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.3769 Canadian dollars from 1.3832 Canadian dollars. The US dollar declined to 10.5254 Swedish kronor from 10.5758 Swedish kronor.
