JAKARTA, Aug. 7 (Bernama) -- Chief of Army General Tan Sri Datuk Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan paid a courtesy call on Indonesian Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak at the Army Headquarters here on Tuesday.

The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) said in a statement that the discussion focused on joint exercises, enhancing professionalism in carrying out duties, and security in the border areas of both countries.

“May the friendship and cooperation between the two armies continue to grow, by adhering to a high commitment and spirit, so that together we can maintain stability and security in the Southeast Asian region,” said Maruli.

A similar view was shared by Muhammad Hafizuddeain, who emphasised that the continued strong relationship between the two parties would have a positive impact on relations between Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Malaysian Army (TDM), through a social media post, stated that bilateral relations between the TDM and TNI AD have existed since 1958 and continue to be strengthened through various cooperation initiatives between the two countries.

Muhammad Hafizuddeain and his delegation arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten on Monday (August 5).
