KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Those planning to attend the Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat 2024 programme at Dataran UTM, Johor Bahru, starting tomorrow are advised to bring umbrellas as a precautionary measure in case of rain.
Johor Meteorological Department director Nor Adawiah Abdullah said that weather forecasts for tomorrow and Saturday predict rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
“On the second day of the programme, the weather is expected to be fair, but thunderstorms are likely to occur in the afternoon,” she said when contacted by Bernama.
She also advised the public to regularly check the official website at http://met.gov.my, follow the department’s social media channels, and download the myCuaca app for the latest and most accurate weather information.
At the event, the Malaysian Meteorological Department will showcase its Mobile Meteorology Office, where visitors can gain interesting insights into cloud seeding operations, the southwest monsoon and weather forecasting.
The Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat programme serves as a platform for the government to inform the public about the achievements and benefits of the MADANI Economy through various initiatives and ongoing commitments to empower the people, entrepreneurs and industries.
It will also offer more than 170 direct services from 34 ministries and agencies, including free helmet exchanges, up to 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses and the MADANI Sales programme.
