KUCHING, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Pahang's Tengku Mukhriz Tengku Mansor showcased an impressive ride to clinch the gold medal in the men’s downhill mountain bike (MTB) event at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) today.
In the race at the Bukit Siol grounds at Petra Jaya here today, secured the top spot for Pahang, clocking in a time of 1 minute, 48.133 seconds.
Meanwhile, Terengganu cyclist Amer Akbar Anuar, the BMX gold medallist from two days prior, was narrowly edged out, settling for silver just 0.279 seconds behind.
Penang's Aaron Iman Keneddy took home the bronze, trailing by 9.562 seconds.
In the women’s category, Kedah professional rider Anis Natasya Ahmad finished with a time of 2 minutes, 11.307 seconds to claim the gold.
Anis Natasya outpaced Kelantan's Nurul Azlina Mohd Razali by 1.619 seconds, while Sarawak’s own Safyia Sa'id secured bronze, 13.413 seconds behind.
The mountain biking events, offering a total of eight gold medals since Aug 14, will conclude tomorrow.
