PUTRAJAYA, Aug 21(Bernama) -- The MADANI Rakyat programme for the Sarawak zone will be held in Miri from Sept 27 to 29.
Communications Minister and Unity Government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil announced that the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation will host the event.
At a press conference following today’s Cabinet meeting, here today, Fahmi said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof highlighted the success of the recent MADANI Rakyat programme for the southern zone in Johor, which drew approximately 223,000 visitors over three days.
The MADANI Rakyat programme continues from the One Year with the MADANI Government initiative, which was held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in December last year.
In addition, the Cabinet was briefed on the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2024 in Sarawak, which began smoothly on August 17.
Fahmi reported that the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh for her efforts in ensuring the programme’s success.
SUKMA 2024 features 37 sports and 488 events, including 236 men's events, 217 women's events, and 35 mixed-gender events, spread across nine divisions: Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri.
