PUTRAJAYA, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- Visitors to the 2024 National Day celebration on Saturday (Aug 31) are reminded to maintain the cleanliness of the event site around Dataran Putrajaya.

In a statement today, Alam Flora Sdn Bhd acting chief executive officer Badrulhisyam Fauzi said the public is asked not to throw rubbish indiscriminately but to make use of the garbage bins provided to ensure cleanliness in the event area is always maintained.

He said 750 units of mobile garbage bins and 11 units of roro (roll on/roll off) bins have been provided around the event site since the 2024 National Day celebration parade rehearsals on Monday.

Badrulhisyam said Alam Flora also assigned a total of 220 workers to maintain the cleanliness around the event site throughout the celebration.

"Alam Flora's commitment is to guarantee the celebration runs smoothly without any disruption of hygiene," he said.

Alam Flora assigned the cleaners to the event area, comprising over 400,000 square metres, to maintain a comfortable and orderly atmosphere throughout the celebration.

In the statement, Alam Flora also said that two units of 'jetter' lorries have been used to 'flush' Dataran Putrajaya to prepare for a clean and orderly site ahead of the 2024 National Day celebration.

Meanwhile, for the clean-up work post-Saturday’s celebration, Alam Flora said that four compactor trucks have been assigned to ensure that the event area is returned to its original state quickly and efficiently.

"Other areas will be cleaned by workers according to the existing routine. This effort is to return the area to its original state and maintain the sustainability of the environment after the event is over," added the statement.
