KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (ANGKASA) president Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah will deliver the opening speech at the trade dialogue session of the International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific (ICA-AP) Committee on Trade and Business meeting, set to take place from Sept 1 to 4 in Kunming, Yunnan, China.

In a statement today, ANGKASA said that the dialogue, which will bring together cooperative leaders, digital technology experts, and delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region, aims to explore the potential of e-commerce, digitisation, and artificial intelligence (AI) to drive the progress of cooperatives.

“Among the objectives of the trade dialogue are to boost e-commerce knowledge among cooperative management, improve trade services with digital and e-commerce technology, promote cooperative-to-cooperative (C-2-C) trade, and fortify regional trade networks and economic integration.

“One of the main focus areas of the trade dialogue is leveraging e-commerce for the growth of cooperatives, utilising big data in cooperative trade and business, and integrating AI to enhance cooperative governance and operations,” said the statement.

According to ANGKASA, MyAngkasa Digital Services Sdn Bhd (MDS) executive director Muhammad Hudhaifa Ahmad will represent the Malaysian delegation as a panellist at the Big Data dialogue session on Trade and Cooperative Business.

During the working visit, Abdul Fattah, who is also the ICA-AP vice president, and the Malaysian delegation are scheduled to visit cooperatives and engage in discussions with Yunnan Supply and Marketing Electronic Commerce Co Ltd, Songmin District Flower Cooperative, and Yunnan Mushroom Biotechnology Co Ltd.

They will also hold meetings with counterparts and cooperative leaders to explore expanding business and trade between cooperatives in Malaysia and China.

ANGKASA Board Member and ICA Board Member Datuk Kamarudin Ismail, along with ANGKASA Group chief executive officer Datuk Abdullah Jusoh, will also be part of the Malaysian delegation.

Aimed at strengthening cooperative trade and business practices throughout the Asia-Pacific region, the ICA-AP Committee on Trade and Business comprises 33 members representing 19 organisations across 13 countries.
