PARIS, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- National para archery champion S. Suresh’s 2024 Paralympic Games 2024 outing came to an early end after being eliminated at the 1/8 elimination round at Invalides, here today.

Suresh, participating in his second Paralympic Games, fell to fifth seed Mohammad Reza Arab Ameri from Iran, 2-6.

Suresh got off to a good start when he took a 2-0 first set-lead before wheelchair-bound Mohammad Reza made a comeback by winning the next three sets to advance to the quarter-finals.

The 31-year-old Suresh began the morning convincingly by eliminating 2019 World Champion Eric Bennet, from the United States Eric Bennet, 6-2.

Mohammad Reza advanced to the 1/8 elimination round after defeating Azerbaijan's Jahan Musayev, 6-4.

Last Thursday, Suresh came in the 12th position after recording 625 points and renewing his best season record of 596 points recorded last June at the World Para Archery Ranking in the Czech Republic.

Despite today's outcome, the archer from Kedah managed to improve his performance at the 2024 Paralympiad.

The Paralympic Games, which officially opened on Aug 28, will end on Sunday.
